a conversation.

You made the document. Now make it a discussion.
Share any HTML page and bring feedback right to the words that matter.

FIELDNOTES WORK, A LITTLE BETTER
THE WAY WE WORK / NO. 024

A calmer way
to work.

Less noise. More intention.
A proposal for making space for the work that matters.

01   Start with space, not a meeting.

Our best ideas rarely arrive on a schedule. They need a little quiet, a little focus, and room to take shape.

No standing calls. No quick syncs. Just a stretch of time to get somewhere meaningful.

More space to think.
Better things to share.

02   Write it down. Open it up.

including the people who need a moment to think before they speak.

FROM YOUR FAVORITE TOOL. TO YOUR FAVORITE PEOPLE.

Claude Codex Any HTMLIf it’s HTML, it’s welcome here.
A SMALL STEP. A BETTER CONVERSATION.

From a finished file
to a shared starting point.

No rebuilding your page in another editor.
No feedback lost in a separate chat.
Just your document, ready for a conversation.

01

Bring your HTML.

A proposal, a report, a beautifully generated page. Upload your HTML file and keep it looking like you intended.

02

Invite another perspective.

Share with specific people or open it up with a link. Documents start private. You decide who gets to read along.

A thought worth talking about.
MK What if we tried this?
03

Meet in the margins.

Select a sentence. Leave a thought. Reply, discuss, and resolve, with every conversation anchored to its context.

THE DOCUMENT IS JUST THE BEGINNING.

Made by AI.
Written by you.
Better together.

Making a rich, thoughtful document is easier than ever. Getting thoughtful feedback on it should be just as simple.

Give your document a margin

Your design stays yours.

Layouts, typography, charts, and all. Your HTML is rendered as uploaded, with feedback living alongside it.

Feedback with a point of reference.

Comments attach to the selected text. Less explaining where. More discussing what matters.

New version. Same conversation.

Upload your next draft. Threads reattach to the text, and comments on removed passages stay accessible.

Fits the way you make things.

Publish from the upload form or automate with the REST API. Go from a local HTML file to a link worth sharing.

A FEW THINGS YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING.

In the margins,
answered.

What kind of documents can I upload?

HTML documents—design proposals, research reports, project plans, or pages generated by tools like Claude and Codex. Self-contained HTML keeps your document portable and its styling together.

Is this another document editor?

Docmargin is a place to share and review your HTML. Create in the tool you prefer, then upload the result. Your document keeps its layout and styling, with comments alongside it.

Who can see my documents?

Uploads are private by default. You can share with specific email addresses, anyone signed in with the link, or make a document public. Public documents can be read without an account; commenting requires sign-in.

What happens when I upload a new version?

Docmargin reattaches existing threads to their text in the new version. If the text was removed, the thread is preserved under “Not in this version.” You can also return to earlier versions.

Can I publish directly from my tools?

You can publish through the REST API with a personal access token from the app’s settings. MCP support is coming soon, for a more direct connection with AI tools.

LESS BACK-AND-FORTH. MORE MOVING FORWARD.
